Abstract : In this paper,the magnitude of under shoot and over shoot in aproto type secondorder system with one positivereal zero is computed by the analytic methods. Also,it wilbeshown that the peak times of the under shoot and over shoot can becalcul at edusing the impulseand stepresponse of the secondor der system. Thred if erent case sare in vestigated: under damped(0 < < 1),criticaly damped( = 1) an dover damped( > 1) cases.Wedeal with the undamped( = 0) case as aspecialcaseof the under damped.Anda compen sation method is proposed toreduce under shoot soft henonm in imum phase system using fed forward compensator.
